One of the major ways NACE advances this mission is by impacting policies that manage critical assets across the world. NACE works on behalf of citizens to impact public policy at the federal, state, and local levels. To accomplish this goal, NACE’s Gov-ernment Relations Department engages policymakers to ensure corrosion planning By Adam Christopher, Manager of Government Relations for NACE is an active part of asset integrity and sustainability efforts. We ensure that the voices of corrosion industry professionals are heard, and legislators are informed of the importance of corrosion control. In addition to this mission, we keep corro-sion professionals informed of important developments and provide an opportunity to participate in the process. efforts that will help transform our nation’s transportation systems. With infrastruc -ture facing significant challenges and somewhat dire circumstances, experts have urged Congress to pass comprehen-sive reforms that improve the safety and reliability of our national infrastructure in order to avoid possible catastrophic con-sequences. To date, Congress has made initial progress and will look to complete action by the end of the calendar year.
